In Dream 587 the dreamer sees a Russell's viper resting on the wall inside the hall of his house. He knows how dangerous the snake is, yet he feels no fear. He does not try to harm it or panic. Instead, he handles the snake calmly and gently and places it safely outside the house. A strong curiosity then rises in him. His house is on the first floor, so he wonders how the snake could have entered at all. He carefully checks every possible opening, hole, and gap, but no matter how much he searches, he cannot find a clear explanation. The dream ends with this unresolved mystery, leaving him alert, thoughtful, and slightly puzzled rather than afraid. The central tension is between a danger that is handled without fear and an entry that cannot be explained, and between a calm act and an open question. Two readings follow: one through Siddhar wisdom, one through Jungian psychology. What does it mean for a snake to be inside a house in which there is no visible way in?
